I want velcro shoes

Post by Inazuma »

I was thinking about shoes today and was wondering why we don't have velcro shoes for adults. It's annoying having to tie my laces everyday. Sometimes they can come undone or need to be replaced if they get damaged. It's just a hassle that I should never have to deal with, since a superior method exists. I haven't worn velcro shoes since I was a baby, so maybe there is some downside to them that I'm not aware of, but I can't figure out why someone would purposely choose an inferior product.

There also seems to be a stigma with velcro shoes. Supposedly you will be viewed as lazy, or as an idiot who is unable to tie shoelaces. If wanting to do things a better way makes me a lazy idiot, I would be proud to be one.

Maybe there already are adult velcro shoes out there but I just can't find them. If there is a company that makes velcro running or tennis shoes for adult men, please let me know. Even if it's from a country out of the USA, I'd consider buying it.

I would settle for just comfortable shoes.

I wear either black or brown leather cap toe shoes 6 days a week, and despite the price tag, they are very uncomfortable. Slipping into a pair of Pumas is like putting my feet into pillows. I don't mind lacing them.

edit*^I'm sure Wal Mart has a pair for you.

One of the biggest problems with velcro is that it just wears out. After you've fastened and unfastened your velcro shoes a hundred times, they just aren't going to stick as well as they once did, and may not stick well enough to hold up to the force caused by an adult walking briskly or running. If you're just going to shuffle around like a geriatric, they're fine.

Almost any Department store has them. Here's some from K-mart.

If your looking for name brands Hushpuppies, New Balance and rockport make them. Most are walking shoes though.

Shit. I was worried about something like this. Now it all makes sense.

I can be very active at times which is why I normally wear high quality Nike running shoes. I guess I will have to give up and continue tying my laces everyday. You'd think there would be a better method by now. Maybe velcro isn't the answer but some other technology is.
