Looks good. But then again I set my standards really low for comic book movies.

You really shouldn't. Yes, there are few great comic inspired movies, but they do exist.

And for an awful comic, KICK ASS looks to be a terrific flick.

probably kinda true. It looks like they might be doing 'armor wars' from the trailer. Villans stealing tony's technology. Which.... is kind of disappointing because in essence that is what the first movie was about, but here is the rub of iron man. It is hard to write a story of iron man and have it not be about that at it's core. Anything else and it either gets too weird and dramatic for an action movie (who wants to see tony get help for alcoholism, and kick the bottle with the emotional support of his friends? no one) or it is just business as usual (bad things happen, ironman blows up the bad things).

What i was hoping they were going to do is pit ironman ageist magic. Ironman vs the Mandarin. Have him fight something that puts him out of his element. Make him look for help. Maybe throw in a little dr. strange.

I would've really liked if they used war machine dynamically. First as the hero then as the bad guy. There was an arc were tony couldn't be iron man for some reason. I think he got sick or hurt or something. Rhodes filled in as ironman and the suit being linked to his brain made him less sane the more he used it because the suit was used to the way tony's brain was made up and how he thought. Eventually ironman had to take him down.
