I started "smoking" at around 14-15. Smoked when I was 18-22. Quit cold turkey, and although I still smoke cigars and the urge is there, no cigs for me since.

I started smoking when I was 13 and smoked for pretty much 20 years untill I quit a year ago. My grandmother quit smoking in her 40s and died from lung cancer in her 60s. I guess it is something I need to watch out for.

I actually quit smoking a month ago for the third time. And im actually chewing on some minty fresh nicotine gum now. But if someone would have told me years ago that i would have to chew some bad tasting gum to quit i might have tried harder not to start. Also withdrawal headache is a bitch.

Your headaches might be from the gum. Ditch it if possible.

Anyone ever heard of them? It's like something you'd see in Blade Runner of The Fifth Element... Basically they are electronic cigarettes in which a cartridge is put into the cigarette for the flavour of your liking, and all that comes out is water vapor. These cartridges contain nicotine and flavouring, and thats pretty much it.

I'd see the advantages of this over a regular cig... you still get your nicotine without all that tar stuff.

I know a guy who smokes one of those. It's weird looking. It has a blue (I think) LED that lights up as you inhale. He says that the smell doesn't stick in your clothes like cigarette smoke.

I got one of these for a family member to try and encourage them to quit. They refuse to use it though because it isn't exactly the same sensation as a cigarette. The smell and second hand smoke (vapor) expelled by this is much more pleasant than a real cigarette.
