Its like 50 million people watches WWE, but only 1 million watches UFC. That doesn't mean that WWE is better product.

You do realize you're comparing two completely different things here right? Neither is better than the other because they are not doing the same thing. Sorry, but I hate when people make comparisons or generalizations that don't make sense. I'm a bit anal about some things. If you want REAL martial arts you watch UFC. If you just want something that is made for entertainment rather than realism, you watch the WWE. I don't care for realistic fighting personally, which is why I like Hong Kong movies and WWE and don't have much interest in watching UFC or boxing

Anyway, that list is pretty pathetic. Not a single one of the games I played this year is on there. Thast list is mostly stuff that appeals to people who are not, in my opinion, real gamers. Again, just my opinion. Call of Duty has basically become Halo, EVERYBODY plays it now just because it's so popular. And just like Halo, it's not the best the shooter genre has to offer, it's just popular that's all. I mean a shooter without a cover system in this day and age is pretty pathetic

What bothers me is they took out the lean controls from the older games. I hoped it would be in the PC version at least, but no luck.

Honestly, though, I've never used lean controls in any FPS I've played. I find them cumbersome and it's much easier to strafe back and forth.

I have a feeling fun, daring and original games are soon to be extinct on store shelves.

There's an interesting thing about originality. A game that is incredibly derivative to you might be very original for me. It all depends on prior experience.

Call Of Duty, Mario Kart, Pokemon and Halo are not original ideas these days. These concepts have been beaten to death. Okami, Shadow Of the Colossus, Little Big Planet all did something different that hadn't been done or seen before.

I also meant originality in compared to what else is on the store shelve, not personal experience. Those are very different things. People thinking games like Call Of duty and Halo are the only great and original games out there is exactly whats wrong with the gaming industry, its almost like companies want them original content to fail. Trying different games I normally wouldn't play has led me to find some of my most favorite games all of time.

Modern Warfare 2 though, I see as a male-centric game and it's obviously doing very well. I think that is a testament to the strength of Modern Warfare 1 though.

Of course, these are sweeping generalizations I'm making. There will be a group of women that play the manly games, and not everyone likes Wii even if its designed for the everyman. I just think that Xbox 360 and PS3 don't have many games in their libraries that would appeal to women, and are therefore missing out on a large portion of potential consumers.

Actually, I have met women who like MW. It strikes me as weird, but good. They might only be playing it because their boyfriends are, though.
