Books/Manga/Graphic Novels/Poetry You've Recently Read
Re: Books/Manga/Graphic Novels/Poetry You've Recently Read
I recently read Hour of the Dragon by Robert E Howard. Great Sword & Sorcery tale. I recommend all of Robert E. Howards Conan and Kull stuff. I know he wrote a lot more than that but that is what I have read.

I have only been reading "The Seuss, The whole Seuss, and nothing but the Seuss" recently. It is a biography of Ted Geisel who we all know as Dr Seuss. I am really curious as to what made him tick.
It turns out he had a life long love of poetry, stories, and screwing with people - hey that sounds like another guy I read up on alot Groucho Marx... I mean the man wrote a book report in college about a train schedule.

i just finished Enders game (putting aside the knowledge i gained about him from some friends on this forum when i was about half way through the novel). i have to say i enjoyed myself a lot. but i think im happy with this ending so i will probably not continue on with the series.

Its worth reading Enders Shadow, consider the rest another series all together if you decide to read them (makes them so much better)

I too decided to stop reading after Ender's Game.
Had a few months of 'hard scifi' reading with a couple dozen James P. Hogan novels. Quite entertaining but you begin to notice a pattern and the endings seem predictable halfway through the books.
Also 'snacked' on several short stories by Greg Egan.. Anyone know of short story compilations worth reading?

Last book I read was Raise the Titanic! by Clive Cussler.

I recently read Vol. 15 of Kaze Hikaru, by Taeko Watanabe. It's a manga about a Japanese girl who's disguised as a male samurai during the 1860s, just before the Meiji Restoration. It's very good, and very historically accurate - the author's notes at the end of each book show what great lengths the author went to make sure everything from historical events to clothing and hair styles were as accurate as possible...

The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian, by Robert E. Howard.
I love Conan stories, though Howard's are the best, hands down. It also helps that he was friends with another author I enjoy, HP Lovecraft, and the two influenced each other more than a little. Nothing like having a raging barbarian take down some freakish demoniac elder thing after its crawled its way up from some abyss to make an obscene mockery of existence. Good times.

I've started reading Fruits Basket (through 3 of 23) and am in the middle of The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins.
