2D beauty for PC - Aquaria

Post by durkada »

I've seen no mention of it on these forums, so, here is a quick note regarding a 2D game for the PC called Aquaria. Watching the video, I'd say the gameplay looks a little reminiscent of Nights -- but flattened into 2D. I'm sure that comparison is only superficial, but anyway, take a look:

I only found out about it because of a tenuously link on a linux site. While no linux port is promised, apparently the developer is considering one -- but suspects (with justification) that the linux market wouldn't make it worthwhile.

Cheers,
Jon

Ehh... Little Mermaid + Metroid? Or maybe Little Mermaid + Cave Story.

Either way I'm intrigued. Thanks for the link.

This is the kind of game I've love to see Nintendo publish on Wiiware.

Please make it for the Wii. Either way, I'll play this one.

The blog for the game notes that they will release it when it's done and has been updated recently enough it's clear they haven't abandoned the project.

Very nice looking game; I'd love to see this on wii or xbox live. I'll probably forget about it or never grab it if it sticks to pc.
