Hey everyone. Anayo here. Almost a month ago, I bought one of Racketboy's Sega Saturn mod chips (actually it was June 17th.) It took quite a while before I got it installed. I didn't really get the chance to open the box until about two weeks later (I was on a vacation of sorts.) After that, it took a while before I actually got to installing it. I had my dad help me smolder it in namely due the fact that he has some past experience with electronics and whatnot. I watched him as he followed the instructions on Racketboy's site.
My problem is I just can't get this thing to work. I have a Saturn bin + cue file on my PC, and I've tried burning it numerous times with about three different burning programs. Nero 7, K3B, cdrdao... For K3B, all I got on my Saturn menu was the CD player screen reading “disc is not suitable for this system.” Nero and cdrdao were a bit closer to the mark. When I used the “Burning ROM” program in Nero, the cue files showed up as WAV audio files, but when I got around to burning the CD and putting it in the drive my Saturn registered it as a music CD and not a playable application.
My Saturn still plays non-backup games. However, this brings up another weird point, and that is that initially it reads games as if they were music CD's, bringing me to the CD player menu where I have to manually choose the “start application.” It didn't do this before.
Anyway, I was just hoping someone could give me a few pointers on this. Is there an alternate A+B method of smoldering I need to try? Perhaps I'm not burning the CD properly? Could the modchip be defective?
Thanks in advance,
Anayo

I have what I believe is the model TWO saturn. It's the one with the round buttons, not the oval ones.
Dad used installation method number ONE.
As far as I'm aware, I do not believe the image was region patched. That entails wewriting a little section of code on the image that has a single character in it, such as J, E, or U, doesn't it?
I wasn't using an import cart when I tried to play aforesaid CD back-up game. However, I used to do this to play my Japanese copy of House of the Dead. I've recently discovered that this doesn't work anymore since the chip was installed; it loads the import cart screen, but after I tell it to "load game with no cheats", the "LOADING GAME..." icon appears and pretty much stays there for the rest of eternity.
