Rez not booting (PAL)

Hey guys, I just bought a copy of Rez for the dreamcast and it will not boot up for me. I have tried using utopia and gameshark and it gets to the part where the dreamcast logo pops up then the cd just stops spinning. Is this a common problem with the pal version? I am playing on an american dreamcast and have had no problem playing my other pal games like Shenmue 2 and Headhunter. Any help will be appreciated.

Maybe a dc-x boot disc works? I have a same problem with Bomberman online US on a PAL system though.
