Best Portable Bomberman Game ?

Post by Rounin »

I have been playing a lot of Saturn Bomberman Lately and I was thinking of picking up a portable Bomberman game, any suggestions? I was thinking Bomberman Max for the GBA as it look the closest to the Saturn version.

I recommend Bomberman '93 for the Turbo Express, or Bomberman '94 for the PC Engine GT. They're just a notch below Saturn Bomberman, which is the best Bomberman IMO. Failing that, Mega Bomberman on the Sega Nomad.

Bomberman DS allows up to 8 players to play wirelessly with only one cart. Bomberman Touch is a whole bunch of touchscreen minigames, but the battle mode is pretty good and uses the touchscreen area to expand the playfield - It has online play against other people.

You do know that a "cheap" PC Engine GT or Turbo Express is in the neighborhood of $200-$300 (Not even including shipping.) right?

Not for me. ;) If I find another for the same price as I got my personal one for, I'll definitely sell it for under $200 shipped... WITH one of the Bomberman games if asked!

But yes, I'm aware of the going rates for them. The OP didn't ask which was the cheapest way to play the best Bomberman game(s), just our opinions on the best portable ones!

Ill second Anapan suggestion. Bomberman DS is 8 player off a single cart and a hoot. It is the most fun Ive had multiplayer with a DS game. Its dropped in price alot to, you should be able to get it for 10ish. So taking it to the next convention I head to.
