I hope he doesn't sell it all and keeps just a more streamlined collection of games he will always cherish and play. But I can understand the room aspect, I take up two rooms in my house, one for gaming/collection the other for my musical intruments and cd collection.
I know he will regret it thats why he should compromise.

If you don't want to make sacrifices and want to keep up a high quality of life, don't have a baby. If you choose to have a baby, you need to understand that raising the baby will cost you time, money and bring with it new challenges and problems.
Either decision is fine. What bothers me is when irresponsible selfish people choose to have babies and end up doing a shitty job at raising them. I also think it's silly to have a baby and then complain about having to raise the baby later.

I was a bit worried when I saw Inazuma as the last reply to this thread. I was pleasantly surprised to find you have made a worthwhile point. Way to grow man! I'm proud of you.

Babies cost a shitwad.
Re: hello baby means goodbye games
I had a kid and I never really saw the need to sell my game collection off. I can totally understand it in his case, since he had to do it for monetary reasons, but the thought of selling it off for maturity reasons terrifies me.

I haven't changed at all. I am always in favor of doing the right thing. Two loving people who plan and prepare to raise children together and then raise their kids as their top priority are good parents. Having children for selfish reasons is wrong because the kids end up suffering.jp1 wrote:I was a bit worried when I saw Inazuma as the last reply to this thread. Basically, I just hate to see harmful things being done to anyone, child or adult.

Re: hello baby means goodbye games
I'm a father of three, and haven't sold a single game nor system.
I've certainly changed my spending habits. The "game a week" purchase is now somewhat closer to "game a month" or "game a quarter" in really tough parts of the year. My wife, kids and mortgage all come first. But that doesn't mean gaming stops. What's interesting is that gaming is a lot cheaper these days than it was two decades ago. Hardware is cheap, and retro (or even 2+ year old titles) are easily found in discount bins for next to nothing.
Plus, kids grow up. My 9 year old loves gaming too, and it's something we can share together now. There was definitely a period for a while there (particularly with 2 in nappies at the same time) where gaming came to a total halt for about 2 years. But I'm sure glad I didn't get rid of anything.
Having a wife that supports my "habit" is also a plus. Without her understanding that every person needs their hobby, it would have been a lot tougher, which is something I've seen my friends go through.

Sell baby
Buy games
Works for me.
