whenever you outbid someone, quote their post, it will make it easier for people to find who's winning and what the current bid is.

What's the difference between a Model 1 Sega Genesis and a Model 2 Sega Genesis; besides a number of course?

There are lots of revisions of each, but generically the model 1 will fit the Power Base Convertor for SMS games, has the headphone jack, volume slider, and is bigger. You have to run a cable from the headphone jack to your stereo or through a SegaCD/32X to get stereo sound. The model 2 is smaller and does stereo through the AV cable.

Thanks and if you don't mind I have a few more questions for you or anyone else that wants to chime in since there are one of each available in the auction. I just want to be able to play Genesis games along with possibly some Sega CD or 32X. Do both models work for this or will I have a tough time finding an attachment for one over the other and which model would you recommend? I like the idea of having the volume going through the AV cable. In high school I had a base system with a 32x and CD that fit on the top I think but I don't remember why or how I ended up getting rid of it.

A model 2 with a 32x on top and potential Sega CD sounds like your best bet. The model 1 has a different AV out plug and finding this with a 32x just adds an extra thing to look out for. A model 1 would also need a short headphone style cable to go to the Sega CD for the stereo sound. That one is easy to find anywhere with audio cables, but just another thing to hook up.
