Famicom Disk System wont load

I've tried to solve this problem on some other forums but have been unsuccessful so far. I've been trying to repair my FDS but I've gotten stuck. I replaced the belt and made adjustments to the read head and spindle several times, but I can't seem to get anything more than a loading screen, ever. It seems odd to me that I don't even get any kind of error message, it just stays on the "now loading" screen until I eject the disk or turn it off. What could be wrong here?
