Mushihime-sama Futari Custom Arcade Stick

Post by Ninja »

Not only do I think it's better than the one that was officially released, but I had this done way before they announced their stick! =P I slapped this together to play my 360 shmups I had been importing. Lo and behold they ended up announcing Futari which worked out even better. I stumbled on my pictures again and figured I'd share them with you guys. (They're pretty terrible, I admit...never said I was a photographer or that I have a good camera)

So you had someone assemble this as a custom stick? What was the going rate?

That's a Street Fighter Tournament stick with new artwork and possible some swapped parts. I swapped the Sanwa stick for a Seimitsu for shooters, but otherwise it's still the same.

Actually a friend and I modded my SFIV TE stick. I am having one built from the ground up by him and I'll post it when it's complete.

The mods here are as follows:
Removed the red bevel around the metal platform.
Removed the SFIV splater sticker art and replaced with my photoshop'ed one.
Got a 6 button plexi cut to use as a cover that filled the extra space the bevel took up.
Replaced the 8 buttons with 6x Seimitsu Clear Pushbuttons (took apart the buttons and cut the artwork to put inside).
Pulled the used JLF out and replaced with a new Sanwa JLF because I could.
I think it turned out nicely, even if simple.

Edit:

@ Crux: Yeah, Seimitsu is great but I went with Sanwa because I can make due in a Shooter while also getting to play my Fighting Games.

I think it looks great!

I bought my bf a SF Tournament stick (kinda expensive) and we tried so hard to change the cover to a cool Venom image but it just turned out shitty :/
So we swapted back to the original cover.

@ Reina
Sorry it didn't turn out well, Reina. Not sure if anyone is still interested in finding the SFIV sticks but I saw they released MvC2 sticks that are the exact same as the SFIV TE stick. Of course, if you can find SFIV TE sticks I'm sure they're cheaper (unless they stopped production again).

@ jfrost

Hahaha, it would seem so...

They just started production of the Round 2 sticks, which have a different art and the white end caps on the side are now black. They also have new art on the fight pads.

oh, sounds like they do that on purpose. I'm sure they knew the white caps on the side would look better in black. hmm, maybe we'll get one more stick once SSFIV is out...

These sticks are being released to coincide with the SSF4 release.
