It's better than the first two. For caveman games try playing Joe and Mac 1 or 2 all the way through without dying.marurun wrote:I, uh... I beat Bonk 3 emulated via Ootake the other day, and I didn't use save states to restart! Oh, if only Bonk 3 were a hard game... Oh, if only Bonk 3 were a better game.
I disagree. I think Bonk's Revenge is the best of the 3. Bonk 3 is OK, but it felt a lot more like Bonk's Adventure and seemed to discard some of the nifty advances made in Bonk's Revenge.
Joe and Mac can be pretty fun. On the SNES all the music has this weird reverb, however, that makes it sound like all the music is emerging from a giant metal funnel.

Hmm, let's see.
Finished MDK 2 on the Dreamcast(saw all three endings too)
Completed Shinobi(PS2)with all unlockables, S ranks on all stages(Used mostly Moritsune rather than Hotsuma though, after I unlocked him that is)
Final Fantasy X completed with all uber weapons, summons, best possible customized armors and conquered the monster arena. All characters have max stats too
Final Fanasy X 2-Mascot outfits acquired, finished secret dungeon. Didn't see the best ending though(only had 99% story completion I think)
Final Fantasy XII-Finished just about everything there is to do in the game. Still missing a few items for my collection though. I DID get the Zodiac spear and defeated every summon and optional boss in the game
Finished Adventures of Batman and Robin on the Genesis
Finished Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
Finished Mega Man X 4 with Zero using no heart tanks, no energy tanks, and without ever using the attacks that the bosses are weak too. I planned on trying to finish the game without ever taking a hit but I can't remember if I ever pulled it off or not.
Finished the original Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox on very hard mode and I think I had all Master Ninja ranks. To this day I refuse to play Ninja Gaiden Black as I am still too scarred from the whooping I took from the original. I also have beat NG 1 and 2 on the NES
Finished God of War on hardest difficulty and beat Challenge of the Gods too. Little known fact, the hardest difficulty setting is a cakewalk if you just put all your upgrades into Poseidon's Rage.
Unlocked Onslaught on Marvel vs Capcom using the original Dreamcast controller!!! If that's not an accomplishment I don't know what is.
Finished Treasure's Sin and Punishment(Frankly, I think any gamer deserves a pat on the back just for seeking out and playing this masterpiece)
I was working on getting all S ranks and 100% shotdown ratio for Panzer Dragon Orta in the story mode on hard, but I still had a few stages to go when I stopped playing for awhile
Finished Resident Evil 4 COMPLETELY on the Gamecube. Unlocked everything, upgraded all unlockable weapons, beat all the shooting gallery mini-games, finished Pro difficulty with Zero deaths and 100% accuracy(infinite rocket launcher surprisingly does wonders for your accuracy score). Only thing I didn't do is speed run because I don't like speed runs
Beat all time trials in Sly Cooper
I could go on, but this post is too long
Here are a few that were close, but no cigar:
Never got past last boss on Subterranea on the Sega Genesis
Never got past last boss on Bangaio on the Dreamcast(probably spelled it wrong, it's that Treasure game)
Got killed by last boss on Rygar on the NES after an all night playing session with my cousin. That's when we threw in the towel

Weird... you beat all these long as games. But not the short ones like Subterrania.Gamerforlife wrote: Here are a few that were close, but no cigar:

Great games in that lot there man, you should definitely go back and defeat those bosses.
- A little advise on the Subterrania...
Conserve ALL extra lives. If you die even once between the beginning and most way through the water levels then just restart the entire game and go at it again. I did this for two reasons: you have more lives when you get to the boss, it lets you practice even more.
You'll come to notice that the game seems shorter and shorter each time you restart.
- And advise for Bangai-O:
Everytime you play start in the low levels if you've braked for over a week. Move your way back up. I love this game as the learning curve is amazingly smooth, but you lose your skill so damn fast. I played non-stop from beginning to end... and the end boss seemed liked butter. I was confused. But if I even try to play right now and go straight to level 44 I can hardly make it half way through the level.
Rygar... i don't remember how I beat this game, I liked it and all, but not that memorable.
i beat tekken 2 at the Arcade in 2:45 minutes. i was accused of cheating. i never seen anybody but myself go under 3:00, the second best ive ever seen was around 3:35. i also had the top 13 places (only 1 place per character so i beat tekken 2 with 13 different characters with the best times with each one) and i was the only person who had my name up.
people hated me for taking their names off the arcade machine.
i walked out of my friends house 50-0 on tekken 2. i quit because i was tired.
i used to beat people in the arcade in tekken 2 with 1 and, sometimes with my eyes closed, and sometimes with 1 hand AND my eyes closed. beginners of course but definitally shocking that people saw me do that.
i had the record at the mall for tekken 3 with 27 wins (vs wins) for 3 years or so at the mall untill they took the machine out. i never even lost everybody quit because they were hopeless.

I got an A in all levels of NiGHTS the day I got it.
I beat Virtua Fighter 2 on my first try at the game.
I can beat Guerrilla War on NES in about an hour and a half.

Nice job Claudio, I never was that good at 3-d fighters myself though I did have fun messing around with Soul Calibur and Tekken 3. You're lucky The Apprentice, I STILL haven't played Nights yet. My gaming shame
Thanks for the tips lordofduct. You're probably right about Bangaio. I'd get slaughtered if I picked it up now and just went right to the last stage. You know I'm not usually good at 2-D shooters, but something about Bangaio just made me keep playing until I got to the end. I think the reason I couldn't beat the last boss is because he had some kind of insta-kill attack. I remember I just got tired of playing through the entire level every time he killed me. I plan on getting back to Bangaio at some point. I would love to hunt down a copy of the N64 version too, or just emulate it. I hear it's pretty different from the DC version
I think losing to the last boss in Rygar made us quit playing because we were just tired. We had been playing that game all night(more me than him LOL). Looking back, I barely remember the game, but it kept us entertained so I guess it was alright.
You're right about Subterrania. I think I probably did lose a life or two before getting to the end. I'll play that game again sometime. You know it's funny, but what you said reminds of The Adventures of Batman and Robin for the Genesis. I remember the key thing for beating that game was to not die. It sounds silly, but once you had the right weapon powered up you were set for the game, but if you died you lost your power-up which made the game significantly harder.
To add to my last post, I got all medals in Starfox 64 and finished Donkey Kong Country 100% without any guides or anything, something which eluded me on the first Donkey Kong Country and always drove me crazy.
