It's really annoying when people just keep listing systems, or game titles, etc. until someone tells them they are right. Is there a reason you started to doubt your 2600 answer a moment after you posted it? Did you find an Intellivision ad all of the sudden?
I also have to echo D's sentiments. Us players have already brought up to Hobie and Seven to try and make sure that for a game on a specific platform the platform should be readily identifiable if you are familiar with the game in question (interesting graphical changes or distinctive sound chips). The shotgun style of answering shows that you don't really know what the answer is. TV Gameshows give people one guess for a reason.

Although, in your defense, that one time that someone got anal (I honestly can't remember who) over the Odyssey 2 superscript was kind of assholish and seemed to have encouraged this behavior a bit.

That was me. I think my week was already headed downhill at the time. I've mostly been loose on answers and yes I was kind of a jerk on that one, but I still think there is a difference since its a logo, not mathmatical notation, and official documentation is written that way. I think I was also reacting to the shotgunning that started long before that point too.

Anyway, this is supposed to be fun guys.

We need more questions based on obscure Famicom games based on metal albums. That'll bring the fun back.

You could just limit the number of answers allowed per question. Or you could require a certain amount of time to pass between answers.
I already suggeted that before the contest started plus no double posting you can only post again after someone posted after you.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if we didn't have to keep adding rules?

RULES and GUIDES has been updated in the first post. I hate to change rules this late in the game but for this particular reason i have no choice.

Let the fun continue:

Guesses are fine, but vomiting a million answers is kind of against the spirit of the contest and as D put a bit more nicely, irritating. If you have a guess or two, go for it. Then if you're not sure, go do some research. Be that in your own pile of retro stuff, or consult the google. When I was answering previous contests, I'd go do my best to verify an answer instead of posting 5 times in as many minutes. Granted as I've demonstrated, I have the occasional anal retentive tendencies, but come on guys.

Just typing every possible answer makes it less fun for others who are trying to answer, makes the thread less fun to read, and certainly makes it less fun to run the contest. I was hoping that asking people to limit to one answer per post would curb things, but I guess not. :x
Sorry for a binch of random guesses :( I'll only post if I have a really good idea of what it is.
