Still...I dunno. That Sonic Team logo still scares me.

Me as well. But I'm not the biggest NiGHTS fan. It's just a good game.

Some issues that bother me so far:
* It's much slower than the original
* Rings are a whole lot more spare and further apart

Otherwise, it looks like the game play has been kept very much as it was, which is a relief. I do hope Sega don't rush this out of the door, though. They don't need to. I'd rather wait till 2008 for a good game than 2007 for a incomplete one.

Same here. It was a decent game but the amount of praise it gets just puzzles me.

But seeing that trailer brings a smile to my face. Its a Sega game that looks like a Sega game. As the recent Edge magazine put it, it has that Sega colour pallette.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like I saw a lot more camera angles behind NiGHTS instead of to the side...

I'm one of those people who enjoyed the first game so much that I would give it all the praise mentioned above. I almost didn't want to watch the video because of the Disney comment above... I thought it would be a trailer from the kids point of view, not a joke about the preview voice. I was pretty suprised at the level of effort put into this. This could be a sign that the old Sega might still exist. Can't wait to play!

That's correct, but the basic gameplay seemed to be exactly the same (down to the boss battle). The camera is a bit more behind Nights, but not to the point where it always plays like those sections where it works like Panzer Dragoon (although they showed one such section).
NOTE: I saw a gameplay video, not just this trailer.

It does seem a bit slower, perhaps that is an early level, or some easy difficulty setting... Or it's plainly to be more friendly to non-gamers, which might be slightly disapointing (otoh, that might make it feasible to control with some fancy Wii controls, which might be quite cool).

Ivo.
