Phantasy Star Online: Help Needed w/ De Rol Le

DAMN YOU DE ROL LE!!!! ARRRRGGGGHHHH! I can't recall the last time I was this frustrated in trying to beat a boss in video game. I am a Level 24 RAmar and I am throwing everything possible at him yet nothing I am doing is working. I am casting Zalure to lower his defense and Shifta to increase my ATP and being mindful of his patterns and my resources. So Please can anyone direct any pointers my way.

It's been a while since I fought De Rol Le but he is really easy once you know his attacks. When he lands on the raft, he will do 4 stabbing attacks at equal intervals so just learn the timing of those to step out of the way before the next attack hits. You can probably attack around 4-6 times in between the hits. When he places the spikes down on the raft, you should quickly shoot one of the corner ones and then stand in the far corner to avoid the explosions from the others. Later on, De Rol Le might stand up tall at one end of the raft and shoot huge laser beams at you. Once again, learn the timing and move from left to right to avoid those. As for the random rocks falling from the sky, if you happen to get hit by one, quickly use a trimate to heal just incase you get hit by a second rock. You won't have enough time to use resta but as long as you can survive one rock hit, the trimate will heal you fast enough before a second rock can hit you.

I'm no expert on ranger since I played force exclusively but you should probably be using a gun that can hit multiple targets at once like a spread type, or a spread needle if you happen to have one. However the spread type does have a slower recovery so rifle might be good too. Maybe you could also try using a sword since that will hit multiple parts on him as well. If you happen to have a photon blast, preferably estlla the dolphin, wait for him to land on the raft and then aim it so it shoots through his body and hits every part.

You also might want to try gifoie and rafoie. Rafoie will hit many times and should do decent damage even for a ranger. Gifoie would be good to use on the side of the raft just before he lands on it. Since gifoie stays around for a few seconds, the moment he lands on the raft he will take damage from the gifoie fire thats floating around.

Try leveling up a bit more as well... do you play offline or with other people on the schthack private servers? If you play online, go as a group.

Help Needed w/ De Rol Le

This guy took me a LONG time to beat so don't get discouraged. I think I had to grind a few levels up before I was able to take him on.

Thanks for the tips guys. I wish I could play online but there is no way I am shelling out the cash for a BBA. I suppose I could just play Blue Burst but to be quite honest I work at a computer all day, when I am home I'd prefer to relax playing games on consoles on my couch.

I hear a lot of people sharing my frustration but there are plenty of people who claim they have beaten him at far lower levels than my character so that makes me think that I am doing something wrong. When I am in the battle I feel like I am doing well getting on a roll and my MAG let's a photon blast out and I get to the second form if you will but the guy just won't die. I'll shoot him from a distance, cast Deband and Shifta and when he is on the barge I just start nailing with Gifoie since he is weak to fire attacks. I keep Gioie, Foie, and Resta as my "hot keyed" techniques. And in the end I just use all of my restorative resources where the worm just kills me!!!

As far as spread type weapons or in particular the spread needle, I thought these weapons were generally found in the Ruins. Or am I mistaken? Is there an easier way to get one of these weapons?

Who said that you can't play computer games on a large screen TV while sitting on the couch? Today's HDTV's are computer monitors.

Anyway, back to business at hand. The Spread Needle is found in the Ultimate Ruins, if I remember correctly. I forgot what section ID it drops for. You said you run out of restorative resources? Do you have resta, the healing spell? If you dont, you can keep checking the town shop for it. Lv 24 should be high enough for it to be sold there, so it's not showing up for you, just warp down to a dungeon and then warp back to town and check again. Keep doing that till it shows up. Once you learn resta, stock up on fluids to recover your TP and that should keep you alive long enough to kill the worm boss.

I did some reading and Viridia is the optimal section ID for getting spread drops and of course my section ID is Skyly. When I first started playing I had no idea how they assigned the IDS and the sort of thing so I gave my character aa new that I just wanted to use. So I have to find another way to get a spread weapon. And since you have De Rol Le to get to the Ruins (and unlock) ultimate mode I imagne the spread needle is out of question right now.

Yes, I have Resta, though I can't recall what Lvl it is at. I know I have built upon that technique either once or twice. And like I said I have been "hot keying" that so my HP stays up during battle.

I just leveled up to 25 last night and I feel like I am getting close but still not quite there yet. I am on mission...

Yeah, forget about the Spread Needle. Lv 25 should be more than enough to beat De Rol Le in offline normal mode. Maybe there are some youtube videos of that battle you could watch.

FINALLY!!! Last night I had was able to sit down and finally beat De Rol Le. Rafoie and use the heat shot +5 did the trick rather nicely. Thanks for the tips everyone.
