Question about AV Famicom

Post by moo99 »

G'day guys, I was just wondering, does the AV Famicom (Japanese Toploader) play PAL and NTSC games? see, cause I am in a bit of a pinch here, I bought a North American Toploader (I live in Australia)...and the problem is...the toploader uses RF and not AV...so when I tried to play games here, the picture would load but the sound wouldn't...because I am using a PAL TV...if you're wondering why I didn't just simply buy a PAL toploader, it's simply because all my games are NTSC, plus my friend has a PAL toploader and when he plays NTSC games on it, it runs incredibly slow, so I wanted to get an NTSC toploader and compare the difference....however the only way to fix this problem is to either, mod the toploader so that it uses AV, buy a North American TV to exclusively be used with the toploader...or to ask and see if the AV Famicom can play NTSC and PAL games, thanks.

I'm pretty sure you'd run into the same problem with the AV Famicom. Besides, Famicom carts are COMPLETELY different from NES carts. You're NES games won't fit into a Famicom without a converter. You do know that... right?
