I'll agree with this one. Final Fantasy Tactics was in many ways a rebranded version of Tactics Ogre. The fact that they've now brought it back into the fold with FFXII doesn't change the fact that originally it was no different from Final Fantasy Legend or Final Fantasy Adventure: given the name for brand recognition. The difference here was that it was given the name in all territories instead of just the US.ZeroAX wrote:Funk, E wrote:So, what, Dragon Quest is a Final Fantasy game now because it has a menu-based jRPG system? There's nothing about (most) Final Fantasy games that ties them together other than the name, they're all self-contained.
why are you so angry about this? I'm just saying tactics ain't a part of the main series, and it should be a series of it's own. I don't think it even needs the FF name on it. I'm not saying it's a bad game for christ's sake

Not that there's anything wrong with this, of courseMrPopo wrote: I'll agree with this one. Final Fantasy Tactics was in many ways a rebranded version of Tactics Ogre....
I'd like to take this opportunity to let loose the giddy fanboy in me, and let everyone know that Tactics Ogre:Let Us Cling Together is the best game for any system, ever. From now until the end of time. So there.

Hey, not angry at all. I'm on the internets, therefore semantics are everything.

Re: The best PS! games for today
I just started playing this on my PSP and I was very impressed. Normally I don't care for shooters but this one was something else. Very good graphics. Wow.fox099 wrote:Einhander!

The Oddworld Games would be a definite there extreamly good platform/puzzle games.
The 3 FF's obviously and id also include the Persona Series and Chrono Cross.

You know what they say, the first FF game is usually also your favourite! Which is the case for me. FFX was my first Final Fantasy and I couldn't handle the earlier titles at all. I didn't like FFXII either, mainly because of its cookie-cutter story. At least FFX tried something a bit different.

Chrono Cross +1
Re: The best PS1 games for today
Not only is Square at the top of its game here, there are lots of RPGs that I fondly remember on the console. Wild Arms, anybody? I still love that game. In that generation, the PS1 was the place for RPGs.

If you like puzzle games, Devil Dice, is a fun game. This is a recommendation from the racketboy PS1 guide and I wholeheartedly agree with it.
