Well its a logo, so it doesn't matter anyway.Limewater wrote:It's actually used for all superscripts, not just superscripts denoting raising a value to a power. In LaTeX, it is used for pretty much every superscript possible, from the upper bound of an integral or summation to specifying norms to denoting indices in vectors. Whether or not "^2" indicates a square or some other use of a superscript is purely a matter of context.Hobie-wan wrote: Well, ^2 is the way to indicate a square if you cannot input a superscript 2 on a computer. But it isn't an Odyssey Squared. Its just a superscript 2. Hooray for marketers!

Because it isn't written on the package and literature as "^2".Limewater wrote:Why would that make any difference?Hobie-wan wrote: Well its a logo, so it doesn't matter anyway.

But again, that logo is impossible to render in standard ascii.Hobie-wan wrote:Because it isn't written on the package and literature as "^2".Limewater wrote:Why would that make any difference?Hobie-wan wrote: Well its a logo, so it doesn't matter anyway.

But it is renderable properly with the fonts people are going to have on their computers that are capable of browsing this site.Limewater wrote: But again, that logo is impossible to render in standard ascii.
Anyway, done, moving on....

But, but, but, the people on the Commodore 64!
Note: In case it wasn't clear by my initial concern about people using antiquated hardware, I'm just messing around on this whole objection.

Blackberry isn't a real computer. Your arguement is null and void.noiseredux wrote:what about people on Blackberries? Doesn't apply to me. I'm just curious.

Re: Name that Game Round 3 - THE ULTIMATE RETRO CHALLENGE!
once somebody reached 50 points total. he will be rewarded the first prize winner and can no longer participate in the contest. the first place winner points will not be reset. he will get the first pick of the prize pack (sevin0seven or hobie's) and proclaim the winner of NTG3. everybody else who is left on the chart will fight for the second 50 points race and get the remaining prize pack. once we have two players that have 50 points total, our prize pack will be revealed.pepharytheworm wrote:Thats a good question how does it end. Once one person hits 50 is the gameover and 2nd place is the next highest points or is it when two people get 50 for 1st then 2nd.Ack wrote:And this reminds me, who all has gotten their 50 points? I thought somebody had already. What happens when you reach 50? Does your score reset and you start again, or are you asked to stop playing?
