Hey, man, "^2" is the standard non-extended ascii representation of ².Hobie-wan wrote:Correct.dgamemuster wrote:Reset button on a Magnavox Odyssey²

Thats a good question how does it end. Once one person hits 50 is the gameover and 2nd place is the next highest points or is it when two people get 50 for 1st then 2nd.Ack wrote:And this reminds me, who all has gotten their 50 points? Well, ^2 is the way to indicate a square if you cannot input a superscript 2 on a computer. But it isn't an Odyssey Squared. Its just a superscript 2. Hooray for marketers!Limewater wrote: Hey, man, "^2" is the standard non-extended ascii representation of ².
What about the guys reading the forums on the Commodore 64's?
It's actually used for all superscripts, not just superscripts denoting raising a value to a power. In LaTeX, it is used for pretty much every superscript possible, from the upper bound of an integral or summation to specifying norms to denoting indices in vectors. Whether or not "^2" indicates a square or some other use of a superscript is purely a matter of context.Hobie-wan wrote: Well, ^2 is the way to indicate a square if you cannot input a superscript 2 on a computer. - 50 points total to win the game (the first one to reach 50 points will be the first prize winner, second place will also race up to 50 points total).
