Definitive version of Tempest?

I was thinking of picking one of these up and just plugging an Atari paddle into it... I don't see why that wouldn't work, but figured I would post here first in case someone knows something I don't.
That specifically says "digital gamepads and digital joysticks". The paddles are analog and I imagine they would have specified if it works with paddles. You'd better write and ask.
Ah, I don't know how I didn't catch that. Good idea, I think I'll e-mail them. :D
