Tempest 2000 on Jaguar is the definitive version. It was one of the main reasons I picked up a Jaguar. 8)

Not sure if my dad would enjoy the techno music!

Sounds like I need to pick up a Jaguar with Tempest 2000 for myself though.

Heh... I've actually been thinking about getting a Jaguar for awhile now. I hear that Alien vs Predator is really good.

I'm not sure why, but I just can't get into Moby except for the occasional song. I just can't listen to any of his albums I've sampled all the way through. *shrug*

I have a weird soft spot for Moby, even though my brain knows he kind of sucks. But EVERYTHING IS WRONG is a fine example of mid-90's "techno" at its finest. Sort of safe drum n bass that's really just... well... good, without any pretense or the cranial work that comes from later (and far superior) IDM.

(FUCK! I said I wasn't going to discuss music on here...)

I've actually resolved to just install MAME with Tempest on his desktop, and maybe build him a spinner for it. Here's a thought though, I found this over at Retro Zone. http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.ph ... ucts_id=70

I was thinking of picking one of these up and just plugging an Atari paddle into it... I don't see why that wouldn't work, but figured I would post here first in case someone knows something I don't.

That specifically says "digital gamepads and digital joysticks". The paddles are analog and I imagine they would have specified if it works with paddles. You'd better write and ask.
