Re: I am Home
I like white cheese dip. Moes is ok in my book (though it is getting prohibitively xpensive) because they sell white cheese dip everywhere. But that is so texmex, southeastern texmex. Now I want cheese dip...

But it's southeastern United States, not southeastern Texas. That's why there's another layer of bastardization there beyond regular texmex.fastbilly1 wrote:But that is so texmex, southeastern texmex.
Moe's is an order of magnitude less bastardized than Taco Casa, but I'm guessing that Ack is the only other person on this forum who has had the chance to eat at one of those.

And how, and I used to feel that Taco Casa was far better than Taco Bell, but since moving to Tuscaloosa, the locations here seem...crappier than they used to be. I remember it being a lot better when I was a kid and my mom would get me burritos from there.
I like Moes, but I'll acknowledge it's not real "Mexican" food. Still, I do enjoy a nice steak Triple Lindy from time to time.

Re: I am Home
I never stopped at a Taco Casa, next time I am in Birmingham Ill stop by one. And Ack you fool its all about the Joey with a shot of queso in it.
Re: I am Home
Make mine a Joey's Bag with Cilantro and extra habenero sauce.
If you do order a Taco from Moe's, tell them to put the cheese on the bottom first, it prevents the shell from breaking as the cheese will absorb some of the grease/liquid.

Sorry, you'll have to go all the way to Tuscaloosa or Northport (Tuscaloosa Jr.) to find one.fastbilly1 wrote:I never stopped at a Taco Casa, next time I am in Birmingham Ill stop by one. And Ack you fool its all about the Joey with a shot of queso in it.

Yeah, I don't remember if the locations in Birmingham are still around. It's been years since I paid attention to the streets of Birmingham though.
