Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I have graduated!

Post by jfrost »

Yesterday I defended my graduation project and got my Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Communication (Journalism). Woohoo!

I just felt like sharing this, even with complete strangers, because it took so damn long and I don't want to keep all my happiness and relief to myself :)

Good for you, now get a job! ;)

I worked full time and went to school predominently at night for eight years, sometimes being a full time student and student journalist for the school paper at the same time. I got my BS in Communications (major in Journalism, minor in Political Science) in 1989.

In all seriousness, good job. You feel jazzed about yourself? You should! What was your GPA?

Oh, don't say that. It ruins my mood :)

Wow, eight years. I'll quit complaining already (my course took four and half years, but that's the standard duration).

Here in Brazil we don't have majors and minors, neither do we have college and university (it's just one thing, that's why it takes long). I've graduated from the Federal University of Pernambuco (the state where I live).

Sure I do!

I don't know how GPA works, but my average grade was 8,36 (in a scale of 0-10), and my graduation project got the grade of 9,33 (it was a gaming website, by the way).

I'd call those pretty decent scores!

That's great! I hope I don't have to defend anything to get my Bachelors....
