just an idea

Post by everydayJOE »

I was playing an fps game on my ipod touch today. and an idea popped up. since the gen 2 has bluetooth enabeled, would it be possible to somehow blue an xbox 360 controller to it? I know this is impractical because you would have to build a game around that way of controlling. but im curious. on that same thought, does anyone know if I can bluetooth a 360 controller to a mac. I don't even know if the wired ones with work, so yeah...

360 controllers arent bluetooth? That being said you can google drivers for your mac to have it pick up the wired controllers.

Well, the 360 controller doesn't use bluetooth (RF I think?)
As for using it on a mac, there is http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver

There is a wireless dongle to purchase if you want to use the wireless controller on a computer, but I don't know if there's any 3rd party mac support.

PS3 and Wii controllers are bluetooth - but I wouldnt count on any compatibility anytime soon. I mean Apple wont give the ok on keyboard drivers.

Wii remotes have worked on macs for a long time now. You just pair them as usual with the OS X bluetooth stack.

I use them for a lot of stuff I've wrote in MAX/MSP the HID (human input device) object recognises it straight away.

I've never tried to do the same with a DS3/sixaxis, but I imagine it's the same.
