So...what is the most expensive game you have ever bought?
Re: So...what is the most expensive game you have ever bought?
I am still considering on whether or not I should get Valkyrie Profile for the psx. I have the psp version, so most likely not. I do own both Star Ocean story and evo just cause I preferred the character design artwork (it was actually done by a hentai artist) for the original, while I bought the port mainly because production IG did the the cutscenes. I don't think I make a big deal about voice overs cause I always have the option to turn the sound off. Great thing is that I got Star Ocean evo for free, while story was only 19.99 when I bought it.

The funny thing was that I bought it at launch because I enjoy Atlus games and the Shin Megami Tensi series especially, so when I bought it, it was regualr price, I however sold it because I needed money and it took me quite a while to track down the version with the soundtrack, now it isnt too hard to do, so if you bought the one without the soundtrack for 45 then you have the reprint, the original one is a little harder to find(it just comes with a soundtrack)JC48573 wrote:The minute i knew the game was rare, i bought it right away for 45 dollars used at gamestop. Atlus just don't produce a lot of games and often times the games are darn good that you can't really wait for the price to drop. Nocturne was a great game, but i wouldn't go crazy over it.Snickerd00dle wrote:Nocturne was about 90 when it was still really hard to find, and just recently Jack Bros which with tax in Chicago was about 100 dollars

mine did say it included the sountrack on the cover, but i didn't get it unfortunately. the previous owner probably kept the soundtrack hoping that he or she would get it again in the future. I had to buy another copy which is the reprint just so that it matches the description. I sold the first copy to someone else. it just doesn't make sense for me to keep something that is not even complete or doesn't match the description correctly.

Picked up Valkyrie Profile for PSX for $37.50 yesterday - sans instructions.
$60 for Earthbound was the most I've ever spent on a game.
Recently, $45 for Lunar 2 Complete on PSX was a little more then I usually like to spend.

I'll need to tell you prices when I get home.
I think the most expensive one is either Batman: Arkham Asylum special edition for PS3(with the batarang) or Fallout 3 collectors edition for PS3 (the metal lunchbox thingie) or Heroes of Might and Magic Complete Edition (I may be completely wrong on this one).
PS3 games are like 60-70 euros each (90-105 USD). So I'm guessing a collectors edition of PS3 game was the most expensive one I bought. I do not always look at the price when I buy a game, just pick it up from the shelf and pay with my credit card

I picked up a near mint copy of Cosmic Smash at an anime convention a couple years back for something like 90 USD. I knew nothing about it and it was kind of an impulse buy. Picked up Kururin Squash for the Cube for something like 35 USD at the same booth and had more fun with it. I'm probably going to give Cosmic Smash another try someday soon though.
What really sucks though is that my ex-girlfriend has the case and manual. In storage. In California. I live in Utah. She lives in Oklahoma. I'm basically never expecting to get that back.

For me it was probably xmen vs street fighter for the psone. The game cost 50 dollars. The store I always go to had a lot of fighting games for the psone and that weekend I shelled out close to 250 dollars for these 2d fighting games. Yeah I ended up with every 2d fighter for the psone but I felt sick because those versions of the 2d fighting games SUCK and I hated myself afterwards. I sold them back and got half of what I paid for.

Oh yeah. I also bought Battle Stadium DON for $60, Jump Super Stars for $40, and Jump Ultimate Stars for $45.

I spent $100+ on Spiderman: Web of Fire (cart only) for the 32x.
I spent whatever the MSRP was for Virtua Racing for the Genesis when it came out $80 or $90, I think).
I've bought plenty of $50 and $60 games. I've also bought a few special editions (e.g. Resistance 2), but I don't know that those really count as I'm not just getting a game, I'm usually getting bonus items as well.
