So...what is the most expensive game you have ever bought?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

The minute i knew the game was rare, i bought it right away for 45 dollars used at gamestop. Atlus just don't produce a lot of games and often times the games are darn good that you can't really wait for the price to drop. Nocturne was a great game, but i wouldn't go crazy over it.

I think the most I've spent was 80 bucks plus tax on Half Life 2 Collectors Edition the day it came out. I was and still am playing that game to this day, so I thought it was worth it.

Even retro stuff I'm usually on the cheap side, I probably won't pay over what a new retail game goes for ($60) no matter what it is, excluding systems of course.

I remember spending about $75 for my import copy of X-men VS. Street Fighter for the Sega Saturn when it first came out. Not to mention I also bought a converter cart and and Hori Arcade stick the probably set me back another $50 or so. I cant remember exactly. Still got all this stuff to this day.

One game I do hate regret selling was Ogre Battle for N64. I sold it darn cheap too. It was a great game, so I be damned if it was on virtual console. I was young and stupid and it was actually one of my favorite games that my father bought for me.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Limited Edition=$130. I love the Metal Gear Solid Series so it was well worth it.
King of Fighters 98 for the Neo Geo AES= $85. My favorite Neo Geo game that I own.

I think I spent about $100 on Valkyrie Profile for the playstation about a year ago... pretty pissed about that but I had a lot of money at the time. There is this store where I live though that buys and sells video games all the way back to the NES, minus the obscure stuff like Sega CD and stuff like that, sometimes they over price games, other times they sell high value games for cheap, so I just buy those and sell them on ebay and make decent money doing that every once in a while, so I don't feel so bad when I spend a lot on something I really want

I bought Guitar Hero w/ Guitar near the launch. I don't remember how much that was exactly. I think it was around $70-$80 though.

I don't usually buy launch titles, so I rarely get anywhere near the $50-$60 starting range. I rarely spend over $10, actually. I bought Grand Theft Auto III: Vice City at launch for $50. I can't think of many others.

The most I ever spent on a used game is $44 for Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.

I really don't buy the super expensive stuff :?
Yeah, same here. Like you I doubt I've ever even spent $60 on a game.
The great majority of my games were purchased for $25 or less. I usually wait until games come down a bit. There are just some that are never going to be cheap no matter how long I wait. Hellgate London was a special case because I played the hell out of Diablo II and had high hopes. Even with the issues at the beginning they were fixing things and I hoped things would continue to get better and paid extra to help insure that. Oh well.
