Since this decade has come to close to the end, what do you think what is the best album(s) of the decade. I will admit I am tough critic when it comes to albums, I don't just just say its a good album, it has to be good, I don't know there certain qualifications when I am listen to these albums, I mean the artist has to do something to really make it stand out, I will admit this decade does not really have the most memorable songs, to me it felt like hey made hits and the rest are just fillers, and most of the time the artist personal actions overshadow the actual music itself (Kanye West anyone?).
Anyway, enough of me rambling, here is my picks. I will let you know that it is a little on the metal side, that is mainly because I am big metal fan. But I have been expanding my musical horizon over the years.
Municipal Waste - Hazardous Mutation (2005)

I will admit, there really was a big huge void between the late 80s and the mid 00s in the metal scene, more specifically the Thrash Metal sub-genre, it was a genre that suddenly died off, Metallica became mainstream pussies, Megadeth broke-up for a short time, Slayer where just Slayer. Until around the middle of the 00s, there was bands like Merciless Death, Toxic Holocaust, and this band Municipal Waste the album "Hazardous Mutation". It was an album that felt like the Thrash genre never left us, but at the same time revive the thrash scene. It was an album that gave me the same feeling when I first herd "Reign of Blood", the ride was awesome but short, it just makes you want to ride that roller coaster again. Plus, these guys are just about having fun and be proud to be a metalhead.
Ulver - Svidd Neger (2003)

This one came out of nowhere, this is an album that I just blindly checked out, I had absolutely no knowledge of the group whats so ever. I was just in the mood to hear some ambient music, and I found this. Just to my surprise, I found this just surprising to listen to. The music just beautiful, epic, moody, its like almost a perfect background music. Pretty much my main inspiration behind my photography, heck I even used it for my photography demo.

This album almost got disqualified because its a soundtrack to a movie, I just love it so much not to exclude it. Plus, I don't think I would ever watch the movie, if I did watch it, it will ruin the music for me, I like the way I imagine it when I listen to it.
Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP (2000)

I know what everyone is thinking "d00d wtf!!!! u liek dis wiga sh!t", honestly yes. I liked this album when I came out back in 2000, I was in middle school at the time, and it was very popular back then. I remember that I got so sick and tired of Eminem this or Eminem that, I just ended up hating the guy, I went as far as throwing away the album. Now, fast forward 8 years later, with my knowledge my music expanded and became more open minded then I was years ago. I re-bought the album, give it a listen, and was STILL an awesome album to listen to. It really just spring to my mind as one the best albums of the decade, it is definitely his most expressive album. I think the sad thing is that he just can't live up to this album, even his follow-up album was a little bit disappointing.
