The little doors on the cartridge slot look off. There should be little corners cut into the back of the door further from the Genesis logo.

At least, that's what it looks like to me.

OK, I think Ack's right. The door on the cartridge slot is wrong.

To Hobie: Is that wrong in the ad as originally published, or did you edit the image?

Correct. Welcome to the game Ack.

I just got my launch Altered Beast Genesis box from D and I was surprised to see the that on the back of the box. It is a direct scan, I did not edit it. Obviously they had images and were working on the packaging before they redesigned the cart slot to keep us nasty importers out. I then took a closer look at the front of the box too:

Notice that's a Japanese style cart in the system.

That picture of Altered Beast looks like an added image (i.e. not from the original picture)
