I've long given up on Sega bringing it to America. You have far more patience than I, my friend.

Kinda surprised to not see Demon's Souls as one that interests you (for me, it had parts that reminded me of Way of the Samurai), but different strokes I guess. I bought the PS3 back when Metal Gear Solid 4 hadn't even come out yet, but the games that influenced my decision were actually the ones that couldn't be found in the retail sector. After seeing videos of Everyday Shooter, PixelJunk Monsters and Echochrome, those were enough to make me want the system.

Also, Dead Rising is still the biggest reason I want a 360... I'm thinking I should just wait for Dead Rising 2, and hope it actually can somehow be just as good or better than the original. And... kudos to actually enjoying Red Steel. God knows, I couldn't after the first five or so hours of play, and it also was the first game I played for it.

I'm interested in Demon's Souls, but it wasn't something that was on my radar until well after its release, and I don't know if I could dedicate the proper amount of time to it. Echochrome interests me as well, but it also saw a PSP release.

Yeah, I realize I'm apparently the only person who really liked Red Steel.

Don't worry Ack, I liked it too.
I liked it more than Resistance . Why?
For the different gaming experience, Resistance has no taste, its just another shooter. I thought the story(Theme , mode, missions, atmosphere) were great in Red Steel(I don't know any other games where you are an Asian with a sword fighting the mafia).

This might sound as if I am contradicting my thread, but its supporting it. Its because the Wii does not have more games like Red Steel that I believe its a failure. Even more, when they get a game like Red Steel they blow it on bad controls, weak graphics, and more. On other consoles, some games get everything right like graphics, control, but they don't give you a reason to play the game like Resistance. Other games though fill this void, like MGS and Demon's Soul.

Man, Resistance was the best first person shooter I've ever played on a console. Seriously. Felt just like the old days, playing Quake and Unreal for the PC. No other console FPS has ever been able to do that. I've played through the co-op countless times with countless friends.

Red Steel was interesting for a couple of hours... then the bad controls and repetitious boss fights began to sink in. Finally, after having a lot of my friends play it a couple of days later in deathmatch, we couldn't take it for more than about half an hour.

Red Steel was an interesting idea done very wrong. Resistance was an old idea done very right.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, the7k, but Resistance just never clicked with me. It felt way too stiff to me the entire time I was playing it, and I didn't like how the enemies registered being hit.

The whole time I was playing Resistance, I was thinking: "Insomniac could've taken the time they spent making this and could've made another Ratchet and Clank game."

I would have been so sad if they made another Ratchet and Clank game instead of Resistance. Even though I enjoyed a good bit of Crack In Time, I still got bored with it and couldn't even bring myself to beat it - and Crack In Time is, by far, the only one I really enjoyed.

I want to like the R&C series, but I just can't force myself to like it, no matter how hard I try. I like the characters, but that's about it.

Well, your sadness is worth my enjoyment. :P

That funny, I was like that with Resistance. I like the setting, but I just can't get into a console FPS. I might get R1&2 when I can get them both for <$20.

What do you think of the Jak games?

Liked the first one... for a bit. Didn't care much for anything past that.
