Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Hi there! I'm a 17 year old girl, and am into gaming ever since I was 5, when I played my parents' NES (the game was Mega Man, I think). My favorite company is Sony, and I'm looking to get a PS3 Slim in less than a month (hopefully). I have tons of games, but I rarely buy them. Most are offered, some are used, some from cheap garage sales, etc. To finish, my favorite genres are Beat-'Em-Ups, Action RPG's and Turn-Based Strategy.

I'm Stu, I like to game, oddly enough. I'm currently on a bit of a mission to get every console from my era of gaming (16 bit era onwards). I did a little blog about it, and the moment I put it on my Facebook page, I got offers for about 5 different consoles, so by the end of this week I will only have Nintendo consoles to acquire.

My favourite kind of games are RPGs, GOOD First Person Shooters (Quake 3, Borderlands, Unreal Tournament, the FUN ones), driving games, awesome platformers (Sonic games), and the sandbox style of game (not GTA, but Red Faction: Guerilla, Crackdown and similar). My favourite game of all time is Final Fantasy 7, don't care if its a bit mainstream, I just adore it.

Hey everyone.

My name is Eric Mattheis and I hail from Minneapolis MN.
I am 24 years old and have been happily married for 3 years.
I came to age in the 16bit era, and am still an avid SEGA fanboy (BLAST PROCESSING FTW).

I am an artist by trade- you can view my current work here:
http://www.mnartists.org/Eric_Mattheis

I play retro video games because they remind me of a time when things were simple.
I collect retro video games because I want to safeguard my childhood.

I own a Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Wii, Game Boy Advance, Sega Genesis, Sega Nomad, Sega Dreamcast, Sony PSP 2000 (CFW) and a Red-Ringed XBOX 360 (curse you microsoft...)

This website is what encouraged me to buy my Sega Dreamcast (console, 4 controllers, 1 VMU, AV and Power cables), which was purchased at 'Savers' Thrift Store for $35.00. In fact my local Savers has garnished my collection substantially, yielding such major works of fiction as Super Mario Kart 64, MegaMan X and a boxed copy of The Legend of Zelda (complete with manual, map, and styrofoam insert)

My favorite genre: Shmup
My favorite system (logically): Dreamcast
Someday I will own a Sega Saturn...

In closing, it is a pleasure to be a part of a thriving retro community. I look forward to traveling back in time with you all.

Mattheis

Hello everyone.

Hailrazer is the name, and making retro portables seems to consume the majority of my time now :)

I live near Atlanta, Georgia USA. I'm married for 18 years now and have 12 year old and 13 year old boys.

I do Paintless Dent Repair for a living, been doing it for 17 years and have 4 guys working for me. So I get to work 3 days a week and build portables, play with the family and homeschool my boys the other 4 days.

I'm a friend of Bacteria and that's how I found out about this site.

Hope I can contribute in some way. :)
