Dsheinem's reply wasn't that bad, if it didn't say "OF COURSE", it wouldn't have looked like he exploded. As for the title, it's pretty common to see "GC/Wii" so it makes sense for Dsheinem's title to say that.

It's true that common sense would tell 90% of people that they would need a gamecube controller.

It is also true that an extra 10 seconds to type "requires gamecube controller" would solve the problem altogether.

It is a minor oversight and not a big deal but it would just be foolish not to learn from it and list it that way in the future. Good sellers don't really take a stance on minor issues.

I would say if an idiot might purchase your stuff then include all important information an idiot might need.

And for the love of god give up on the dreaded media mail man..it is garbage.

I have done business with dsheinem in the past and I know he is a good guy. I just think it would be best for anyone to keep in mind that not everyone is as well informed about logistics and shipping as an experienced seller might. This woman/man for instance appears to be buying games for his/her kids and might not know anything at all about the gadget other than what it is named.

I'm not trying to lay all the blame on you dsheinem BUT you did make enough on those 2 sports titles to send them out first class as well man. I don't think the fault lies entirely with the buyer on this one.

This is the reason I don't say "compatible with PS2 compatible PS3s" when selling PS2 games. It's just not worth the hassle to have to explain it to idiots. I just state 'ONLY compatible with PAL PS2 systems'. Nobody is going to complain about that statement, anybody who does is clearly trolling me so I would just ignore their email anyway.

I would ask you to explain that statement but at this point what would it matter. I really like dsheinem but he made a couple mistakes plain and simple. $4 is first class postage...it is almost priority postage. It also wouldn't hurt to be more specific...I'm sorry but it is true. I've made my own share of mistakes and it could happen to anyone. The important part is to learn from it in the future.

I personally wouldn't have even listed Wii compatibility and if I had I certainly would have pointed out that it would require a gamecube controller. I don't think you can assume that everyone will RTFM.

All that said...the postage WAS listed as media mail and the time limit was specified. Unfortunately, it doesn't change the fact that media mail pisses people off and it always will. It is also still up for debate if video games even qualify for media mail...but that is a whole different issue.

My whole point is as a seller it is in your own best interest to provide a better shipping service and be more specific with your auctions. The relatively small amount of effort and expense will be rewarded with happy customers.

Wow - this is getting lots of responses!

I use media mail for games as a default but often will upgrade to first class if the difference is negligible. But two complete gamecube games in a padded mailer do run almost $4 via media mail and could easily be over $4 for first class depending on location. I haven't ever had things beat up/broken/etc. when I ship media mail (my small local PO is very good with packages and I usually pack well), and so until I start having problems, I'll probably continue to use it (usually with Delivery Confirmation).

Anyway, yes the person overpaid but that is not my fault - the auction for whatever reason had 6 bids from 3 different people - it started at $1. Sure I "made enough" to bump postage but that's not the point - I delivered exactly what was promised in the auction. If someone doesn't like my rates, which I think are generally fair, then they can buy elsewhere.

Point taken about how I could have listed "needs Gamecube controller" but it seems ridiculous, as anyone who owns a Wii and has read their manual should know you need a GC controller for GC games. How many GC/Wii auctions mention this- very few, if any that I've seen. Hell, when I go to Gamestop and see their used Gamecube games on the shelf they advertise them as "playable on Wii" and don't mention the need for a GC controller! Personally, I list the game as GC/Wii because it brings in more hits. I'll also add that I've probably sold 20 GC games this way over time and never once had a problem...

Also, to answer the original question feedback can be fixed. You can arrange a mutual withdrawal of feedback if you somehow manage to make things right with the buyer. It will unfortunately still show the comments but the neutral or negative rating can be reversed.

Is putting "GC/Wii" in the auction helpful to get items selling faster or get more money? Another idea would be to simply put Gamecube and not mentioning Wii whatsoever. That would probably rule out all of the people who own a Wii and don't know of its gamecube compatibility, but that revert to my original question and thus this case would prove that mentioning the compatibility has no real considerable benefit. IMHO would stick with not mentioning Wii and lessen the risk of neutral/negative feedback on something similar in the future.
