Lots of variables here as several have pointed out. What they choose to use/not use, along with the final look of the art, will be my deciding factor. Would love to have an HD version just for the fun of it (assuming it'll be $10 or $15 at most) but if they gimp it then there's no point as the original plays fine on several platforms. I agree they shouldn't touch the music.

Given how mediocre the Turtles in Time remake was, I'm not getting too excited over this. Shame too, BOTH Earthworm Jim games were awesome. Hard as hell, but unlike many so called hardcore games, they were entertaining enough to put worth the effort. I never did play the Sega CD versions though...since I never had a Sega CD.

Oh, and Ack, definitely try and beat the original some day if you can. So much awesomeness you're missing on. Or at least, watch a video walkthrough on youtube or something

Man the soundtrack alone was damn near amazing. I remember in Jr. Highschool actually carrying that around with me in my CD book and listening to it when the teacher wasn't looking. "Snot a Problem" track was the best!

That and the "You're the BEST" skit at the end is freakin' hilarious.

If they're remaking this game, they best be remaking the SCD version with that soundtrack and level design. So much freakin' better!
If I remember correctly, EWJ on Sega CD used old classic music for it's soundtrack. I also thought it sounded really nice but it might have been better if the developers created their own soundtrack. I got the feeling they wanted to save money by using old copyright free music instead of actually coming up with something themselves. Sorta like Parodius but at least they remixed the music to sound fresh and somewhat unique.

*edit* Hmm, now I'm confused. I was talking about Earthworm Jim 2 on Sega CD but it looks like the original game may have also come out for Sega CD. I had no idea that came out. Now I really want to hear what you guys are talking about.
EWJ2 didn't come out on the SegaCD, it came out for the Genesis and Saturn.

The first came out for the Genesis and SegaCD...

as the Sega versions go that is.

As for the music, it was a self made soundtrack by a guy named "Tommy Tallarico", there is actually an 'official soundtrack' authored mostly by him with selected tracks from both games:

as for the themes of some of the songs, for instance in the level 'what the heck' and the hidden level in the dark rooms and the eyes chasing you. Those themes have an oldschool theme and use some public domain tracks. But that's the theme they were going for... the entire soundtrack isn't like that. 'What the heck' is actually supposed to be elevator music, so the tracks selections for the entire level are like that.

Oh and good look finding the OST, it took me a while to get my hands on it. I've mostly just listend to the actual game discs all my life (yeah I'm a fag for the soundtrack).

Oh, that's right. I played Earthworm Jim 2 on the Saturn. I was remembering the graphics and thought it was a Sega CD game.
