Not like it was unexpected, but it's official. Now all that's left is Dudley, Makoto and Hakan.

Can't wait for the uninspired cast of Street Fighter IV to meet the uninspired additions of Super Street Fighter IV. Seriously, where the hell is Elena, Rolento and ... well, I guess that's all I really care about.

Sweet!! Super Street Fighter IV is making some great improvements especially for online play!! Can't wait to pick it up.

Before I engage rant mode, I'll be the first to say that the additional characters are cool, and I'm certainly looking forward to using them (again).

Now with that said, the canon is being thrown right out the window. The entire point of the SF4 line was to sit between the (S)SF2 storyline and the SF3 storyline.

Given that the SFA/SFZ story is well before that, we're seeing a lot of very young-faced Rose/Guy/Cody characters appearing late in the story (when it's clear that Ryu and Ken have aged considerably more).

Again, not bitching that they're in the game. Just wondering how they're going to mash all this into the story, or if they even care (because really, it's a fighting game, and story is mostly just tacked on the side for such a genre - take the "versus" games as a good example).

And holy crap would I pee my pants with delight if I could have a Balrog vs Dudley boxing match - canon or not!

Off Topic: I've been trying to go through SF4 to get it out of the way - which is a lot of treading old ground, because my save file didn't transfer to my new system - and I realized something.

SF4 is trying to make me a misogynist. Nine times out of ten, I get defeated in Survival by either Cammy, Viper, Rose or Chun Li. It's really, really pissing me off, and furthermore, it's making me flat out hate the female characters ultra hard.

I've heard a lot of people defend Capcom when I tell them that characters like M.Bison, Rose and Gen are supposed to be dead - regardless, Sakura should look a great deal older, and Gouken shouldn't have been here to begin with! The whole reason Ryu and Akuma have such an intense rivalry is because Akuma Killed Gouken! And did we need another Shotokan anyway? Seriously?

But whatever. Like you say, story isn't important. I just hope they can make the fighting system more to my taste, seeing as I can't really get behind any of the characters. Then again, as long as the Ultras are there, I think I'm still going to hate the fighting system.

Guess I'll just have to pick up another 2D fighter, like... ah, crap.

I actually like Guy, so I'm happy he made it in. Cody I've always considered way too bland though, even in his Final Fight days. And Adon...meh.

Truth is though, while I feel Ibuki is the obvious choice from SFIII, I'm glad at least ONE of them made it in. Sure, we would have preferred some of the more unique characters, but at least they put in one.

Cody is a character almost all Capcom fanboys wanted. Too bad he is still in his alpha prison suit, a Final Fight outfit as an alt better be in there. Ibuki is cool as hell. Guy and Adon are lame, but if they play well thats fine.

These are only 7 so far of 8-10 fighters they will add. Don't give up hope for Dudley, but Elena or Makoto seem unlikely. the video's of Juri look awesome. She is kind of a rushdown mix-up character with lots of guessing games. If her damage output and lifebar aren't horrible could be fun.

Yeah capcom completely wrecked the storyline. Its funny because I used to care about canon and all of that. Now all I give a shit about is links and safe jumps I think analyzing the errors in canon is just as fun as following it.
