Every year the comedy crew at Loading Ready Run puts on a charity "Drive" for Childs Play, a charity set up by the founders of Penny Arcade to donate toys and games to children's hospitals around the world. For every dollar donated the crew adds to the amount of time they play the unreleased Sega CD game "Desert Bus" which has them drive cross desert from Tuscon to Las Vegas in real time, taking 4 hours each way, with no other cars on the road or really anything else to make the game even remotely enjoyable.

The entire donation goes to the charity via paypal. It sends to the child's play charity paypal address, the group never touches the money. Child's Play has historically had a 2-3% administrative cost, the rest has gone directly to donating gifts for the children.

Good. It's a question that everyone should ask before donating money. At a local grocery store, they were asking for donations taht would go to a local food bank. When I asked what percentage of the money actually went to the food bank, the answer I received was 20%.
