. . . Until you realize that in moments your brain will be devoured and your body will be a walking, rotting corpse. . . .Actually, I think that might make the brain devouring bearable. :D

I remember that! That is SO awesome! Thank you for posting that, it really brings back some memories.

I actually just watched until the entire map was filled with zombies... There was like one little room that survived for about two minutes before getting overwhelmed.

It depresses me more that only now, while the US is going through a depression, that your unemployment figures have gone up to almost double digits. In this country unemployment in normal times is up to 15%. In my city the statistics point to 20% of unemployed people. That's pretty insane, to think that one fifth of the people aren't able to find a place to work or even start a business at all.

I have fond memories of that too. They also had one where some of the civilians were armed, and the program allowed for the possibility that an armed civilian would kill a zombie. I once spent an idle afternoon (oh, college) seeing if the armed civilians would ever fend off the zombie infestation.

Yeesh, that's terrible. I didn't mean to make it seem like 'Oh us poor Americans'. Just helps bring things in perspective for those of us who are gainfully employed and not thinking about it.

I didn't think that you meant that way, don't worry. Actually, I think that, say, 8% unemployment is pretty serious. But the fact that I deal with a worse situation than that all the time just makes me think that standards for normality here are just fucked up.

Visually, there's a little bit of a disingenuous argument at work since the color white represents 0% and the color "dark gray" represents 10% or over.

Since the colors darken in hue as unemployment goes up, 100% would more naturally be the color black. In other words, with their current set-up they can't visually represent something like 15% in a way that makes it look different than 10%. They've basically cast the "present" as "worst case scenario".

A 3.9% increase in unemployment over 2 years is bad, but this video makes it look like we are practically at the end of the line...
