There's really not much for them to do in rural Nebraska.
Oh, you'd be surprised. They do enjoy catching drunks and drug runners though. But I will say this, the crime rate here is lower than most all states and in part the credit for that has to go to solid police forces across the state.

you should have just road their bumper until they ran off and into a tree and died. What else are they good for? My uncle has...get this...10 dui's. They never stop, until they are dead.

I think there was an episode of Matlock with that very same plot idea.
Get out of here. Really?

Matlock steals all of my good ideas.
Actually, it was an episode of Quincy M.E. I guy waited for someone else to come out of a building and ran him over. He was drinking while he was waiting. When he hit him, he smashed his knee into the dash and had to go to the hospital. The thing they thought was strange was that after he hit the guy, he drove down the street, pulled off and kept drinking. Of course when he finally got to the police station, he was drunk. Quincy finally figured out that something was wrong and went back to the hospital and got the vial of fluid that they had drained from his knee and proved that he was sober when he hit the guy.

Not that anybody cared about the whole plot, but that is one episode that sticks in my mind.

Well, there are SOME who learn from the experience. My brother got a DWI and at the time he was almost two and a half times the legal limit. He was an idiot! He took his probation and license revokation very seriously. He stopped drinking altogether for a few years, went to AA (part of his probation). Nowadays he may have a drink or two but he never drives under the influence.

That was it! I couldn't remember what show it actually was, only the plot line. I threw out Matlock as my best guess! Thanks for clarifying.
