The dakotas are booming economically in a few areas. Oil fields are huge money. I have a few friends that up and left home to go out there and work.Ack wrote:So am I supposed to take it that there are jobs in North Dakota?
The web's first video game public library! http://videogameexperiment.com rents all games for free and sells them for less than Ebay and Amazon! Plus we take anything in on trade-in.

Re: Animated unemployment map
As my friend said, in that one county in ND, there are 50 people and one guy can't get a job.Ack wrote:So am I supposed to take it that there are jobs in North Dakota?
Or maybe there were 2 without jobs and one moved to Northern Alaska, which if you notice, got better. I wonder what's going on up there.

Know what I find interesting (although not terribly surprising): The best area's aside from the mid-west plains for employment are situated comfortably around the Wash D.C. metro area. Hmmmm....

Re: Animated unemployment map
I'm not saying that unemployment isn't a problem, but I take these figures with a grain of sugar. How do they get these number? Is it the number of people that applied or are on unemployment aid? I know for a fact that there are people on unemployment that aren't looking for a job. THAT's a bigger problem than not being able to find a job, if you ask me.
Re: Animated unemployment map
That map probably doesn't count people like me who are unemployed and are not on unemployment.
Re: Animated unemployment map
While I wouldn't use this in a debate about unemployment as it's just a flash animation, but I wouldn't say these numbers are difficult to swallow.Ziggy587 wrote:I'm not saying that unemployment isn't a problem, but I take these figures with a grain of sugar.

This was depressing, but if you just imagine that the map represents the spread of zombies, then it's instantly awesome.
