What's your white whale?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

$165 - http://cgi.ebay.com/PANZER-DRAGOON-MINI ... 48372a9eea

$75 - http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=Outrun ... rom=&_ipg=

$10 - http://cgi.ebay.com/Sega-Master-System- ... 2a02a9994a

The last one is cheap! The others are there for the $$

The PlayCable is a good idea of what I mean by a "white whale" as it's not easy to find a copy for sale, anywhere, for any price....I'd never even heard of that thing - very cool!

I'm pretty sure that "Garfield Super Smash Slamdown" as my 7 year old son requested yesterday is the rarest game in existence.

Hahaha... There used to be a LOT of white whales for me... at least until I discovered Yahoo Japan Auctions. Now I see them everywhere!!

I guess now my white whale would be a modded white Japanese Sega Saturn - I usually come across them every time I'm broke, and even when I'm not, they end up being on hold for someone else within minutes of being put up for sale. (Of course, I could easily get a white Saturn off of Yahoo, and then send it to someone to get it modded, but I'd rather not have to deal with extra expenses from installation services and just overall SHIPPING... :P I also have zero soldering experience.)

Most of my white whales have been found too.

My first and hardest was my childhood game watch. The GCE SportsTime watch. For three years I only saw one for sale and the second is now mine.

The second is documented here:

Kind of related, I never got to sleep with neither Christina Ricci nor Natalie Portman before I got married. Big Bummer.

My game white whales aren't hard to find, just haven't put the time into getting them back. Duck Tales on GB is a game I really miss. I have Duck Tales on the NES, but I prefer my Tales on the go. It was the first GB game I owned, and I loved it.

Actraiser. I traded it for Actraiser 2, big mistake. I've got in on the virtual console, but it's just not the same.

You can call me Ahab since, thanks to hariyashi, my two white whales were obtained this year:
Battle Tetris Gaiden - Super Famicom
Legend of Zelda - FDS - Complete (easier to come by thanks to the internet, but very few are complete. And like many of you, I prefer to not use ebay to easily complete my hunt).

Now I guess my whale has become a complete copy of Sabrewulf for the Speccy.

You do know you could have both of these by this time next week (or sooner) for like $15 via eBay, right?

I suppose a Vectrex. I've seen them for sale online plenty of times, but I don't want to deal with shipping one of those things. I've yet to see one in person.

Don't you have the celebrity list? We did till I meet and had a lunch with my celebirty this spring.

Now the list is no longer and she can only be my Facebook friend. But when she makes me mad I can always just send a quick PM ...

Yeah, I also got mine this way.

S.D. Hiryu no Ken Densetsu - Nintendo 64.

I suppose now I should go back to what I've spent years pining over: a three-player Aliens Vs. Predator cab close enough for me to go and pick up in Alabama.
