Are all VGA boxes designed that way? I'm not sure if I should try another one if I'm just going to get the same design. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Found my VGA BOX, but there's a problem...
I managed to find my DC VGA Box that I bought years ago before I even bought an LCD monitor with a VGA/DVI output. Now that I found it, I noticed that my monitor's VGA plug (the blue plug at the end of the cable) does not fit into the VGA box! That little cutout around the area to the VGA input is too narrow and the blue plug is just a tad wider and won't fit through the cutout!
Hence, I am unable to screw in the knobs to secure it. I don't know if this is generally a problem. My monitor is one of those widescreen Viewsonic LCDs and the VGA Box I have is the one that came in a long white box with orange and black text on it. The VGA box itself is all black with white text indicating the input area.

Here's a pic
So all VGA cables for monitors are the same? And I should just buy another one that fits my VGA box? Okay, I'll try that. Thanks. Oh, and both ends of my VGA cable are the same size so I don't think the male/female difference applies. Here's a pic of what I mean:

The VGA plug is too wide and the connector in the VGA box is too deep.

Ya, that should work if the connector cover didn't block it. I'd say buy one off of monoprice.com, but you want to make sure that it fits, right? Well, it wouldn't hurt to look I suppose. A used computer store might be a good place to look. I've never been to one, but they might have used cables which you could easily try out, but watch out for dirty connectors if you do so!
