Newest version of iTunes sucks bad.

Anyone use iTunes to buy and play music? Apple's newest version has just pushed me over the edge, the new store is awful. Its a total mess to navigate and I'm just done. So my question is what media player and online music store do you guys recommend? The easier to use the better. I tried the forum search with no results.

Well if you are not buying music Winamp 2.95 is still my favorite music player. And it sounds even better with Audioburst plugin.

Total agreement!!!!!!!!

On that note, I refuse to use Skype 4. I use the highest version of 3 and won't go beyond that. I absolutely hate their new format. For videos, it's Media Player Classic. No Apply. No Microsoft.

If I buy music, it's usually a used CD that I rip myself. Same with games. I buy the game, then download the ROM to put on my Wii, X-Box, PC and DS. Every ROM or ISO I have I also physically own.

But I buy all MP3s from Amazon. highly recommend!
But I also still buy CDs (mostly used) and then rip

I never cared for iTunes, it has all kinds of problems that just annoy me to no end. But I'm not surprised it's gotten worse. Apple seems to be slowly going from making carefully considered design choices, to just changing stuff around for the hell of it.

I use iTunes for playback, especially since I subscribe to quite a few podcasts. I haven't downloaded the update yet though. Sad to hear that it sucks!

All I ever listen to are podcasts anymore. So, I do use itunes to download them and them put them on my shuffle to listen to while I work. That Racketboy podcast is pretty tight. The host is one of the better one's I've heard from a smaller podcast.

As for downloading music, I hate to admit it but I just use Vuse. I have a mac so viruses aren't really a concern. I know, I know. I'm stealing from the artists.

I use iTunes for podcasts and syncing my iPod. The only reason I use iPod is because it interfaces with my car stereo wonderfully, ie touchscreen navigation, etc.

That said, I only buy mp3s from Amazon. They're great.

Another vote for MP3s from Amazon. iTunes really screws you over with the whole MP4s thing.

And also another vote for Media Player Classic, it's hands-down my favorite. VLC wasn't bad, though.
