Which was the game you wanted to like the most but didn't?
Re: Which was the game you wanted to like the most but didn't?
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. I loved FFT on playstation (friend had it then I knew I had to sink hours into it). It got scratched (as I bought it used). It eventually quit working (till I took a disc doctor to it). Then when FFTA came out I begged to get it for my birthday (I wrote it down as if I didn't I know my mom would have just bought the cheapest FF game in the store). I was sorely disappointed (still beat it). Laws sucked, learning skills was a pain.

I'm the same way, except that I've never really enjoyed it. I really want to like it because I've played through and greatly enjoyed every single game in the series up to 9 (with the obvious exception of 2, because it's horrible).dlmvii wrote:Final Fantasy VIII. I had played little bits many years ago and remember it being good, so I tried to play through it again a few months ago. I had to keep pushing myself to play it, but god, it is such an awful game.

Jet Grind Radio. I love the dreamcast, and people say this is one of the best games on it. I just think the controls suck. I've never been into skating or spray paint so it's not thematically appealing to me either. I think I played about half of it before I moved on to something else.

I felt the same way. Loved FFT, felt nothing for FFTA.GamerMON wrote:Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. I loved FFT on playstation (friend had it then I knew I had to sink hours into it). Most recently, Brutal Legend.
I remember looking forward to this game A LOT! I like Jack Black, loved how they explained the lore and universe ala Heavy Metal in previews.
In practice, it ended up being a crappy game.

That game kicks ass. I never understood why it doesn't get as much attention as the other Mario games. Shit, it's the first appearance of Wario!equalsign wrote:The single exception to this is Super Mario Land 2 on the Game Boy. I absolutely loved that game. I'll never understand why it gets so little attention.

Oh hell, how did I forget the biggest disappointment of my life?
Deus Ex: Invisible War?
Good God, that was an atrocity. A castration of Deus Ex - they took my favorite First-Person Adventure and turned it into Baby's First Shooter.

Oh yeah. I didn't like the first Deus Ex either. That's another game I started 5 times and kept giving up because I didn't like it.the7k wrote:Oh hell, how did I forget the biggest disappointment of my life?

Well, I did like the first one. Invisible War was the sequel.
