Honestly, Bleach is far, FAR better than many other SJ shows (like Naruto). Much like a "Tales of" game, Bleach consists of a lot of great characters stuck in a god-awful story.Dylan wrote:Yikes, sounds like the series has considerably worse problems than I thought. Oh well, I'll probably just drop it at the bount arc and then maybe pick it up some time in the distant future when I'm advised it gets good again.
Which episodes of Bleach aren't worth watching?

I liked Naruto...the7k wrote:Honestly, Bleach is far, FAR better than many other SJ shows (like Naruto). Much like a "Tales of" game, Bleach consists of a lot of great characters stuck in a god-awful story.
I see your point though.

The only WSJ series currently circulating I like with anime series are One Piece and Gintama. OP suffers from the same filler-itis as Naruto and Bleach. Gintama is mostly comedy, so it doesn't count.
Psyren needs an anime badly.

Yeah, I consider One Piece the cream of the crop when it comes to Shonen Jump. Very nice character development and minimal filler. (At least, there was minimal filler back when I was watching it. Haven't watched it in a long long time, though.)

If you want a good long SJ series then watch YU-YU-Hakusho.
Good series, good animation, classic show and awesome all around.

I agree, its decent but Cowboy Bebop is great, and Samurai X Trust and Betrayal is Awesome!Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:All of it?
I got really into it and then it proceeded to become complete filler and just suck on a regular basis.
The show was a great property that was grossly mishandled, suffered from wildly inconsistent animation quality and 90% filler from start to the current episodes.
But it's not all bad, it is a good series, just watch the first season and part of the second, skip the rest of the filler and pick up where the series is currently airing in Japan.
The movies aren't all that bad, so watch them if you get a chance.

Heh heh, oh man. Me and some friends of mine in college watched about 30 episodes of that in one night. No sleep at all. Felt like shit the rest of the day, but it was totally worth it.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:If you want a good long SJ series then watch YU-YU-Hakusho.

I don't think Bleach's story is bad at all. It's very good. I'm yet to see a canon episode that is actually bad.
Everyone here won't shut the fuck up about how the series got bad after Rukia's rescue, but it doesn't seem that any of you watched anything past the first episodes of the Bount arc. You just feel the need to share your opinion always, no matter what.
So, Dylan, as I said in my previous post, fillers are bad, yes, but some are more than others (and there are two absolutely great filler episodes that I wouldn't miss for anything), and Bleach's main story and characters more than make up for the bad parts.
If you don't want to endure the fillers, read the manga. It's good all around, and the art keeps getting better.

Re: Which episodes of Bleach aren't worth watching?
I dunno, I've been trying to watch what's on Adult Swim lately - the Hueco Mundo deal. While it certainly isn't filler bad, I still feel like it has lost a lot of its magic.
One of the biggest problems I have with this series is that there are too damn many characters. They should have just kept it Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime, Chad and Uryu, with Urahara and Yoruichi as the mentor/support figures. Once we started getting involved in all those Soul Reapers, it just got confusing. Focus was lost.
This is why I feel Yu Yu Hakusho is clearly superior - regardless of what is going on, the focus was always on Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei, with Genkai and Junior as the mentor/support figures.
