What's your fighting style?

Post by Veno »

Like the title says.
I'm more of an offensive grappler, if that makes sense. I usually play some characters that aren't really the game's supposed grapplers, and play regularly, but grapple alot, but not to where it's spamming.
Example: In Guilty Gear, I play Bridget, a pretty weak and speedy character, but a do a surprising amount of grabs with that character.

What about you guys?

My fighting style changes depending on the character I choose, although I tend to favor Grapplers (Clark & Alex) and fast & powerful characters with low defense (Felicia & Elena).

I play very aggressively regardless, as I hate playing the whole "halfway dash back and forth constantly, trying to pressure the enemy into attacking" horsecrap. That shit ain't fun for someone who lives his life by the words "Zerg Rush".

I'll use any character as long as they aren't slow. I especially like characters with crazy movesets. I tend to throw around special moves and hard attacks more often than not, I only bother comboing if the game has an at least semi-flexible system. I tend to play pretty aggressively, because I have more fun that way. I'm like a refined button masher.

FTW.

I actually think way too hard when I play 2-D fighters, and try to set up combos when I should just be attacking. I'm not horrible by any means, but my button mashing friend always destroys me when he uses Blanka in any Street Fighter game.

A kick in the nuts, a slap in the face, and then pulling of hair.

Oh, you mean in games?

Magic. More specifically, I like small, young, cute elf girls with weak physical stats but super high magical stats.

That's essentially my style. The whole point of a fighting game is to fight, in my mind, so I can't play a style where you use mind games and try to psych your opponent out. Also, I find the female character that fits best in with the "get in close and attack" style of combat.

Anyone else like me who use most ,or all of the characters, in the rosters of many fighting games?

Opportunist. Usually I play by being too hard to hit, and only striking when the enemy can't respond.
