What arcade classics can you play easily on the DS?

Post by racketboy »

Does anybody play MAME on the DS? If so, what are the best games that run well on it?

Also, what arcade classics have you seen included in DS games. Even if they aren't the main focus of the release (like in Namco Museum), maybe they are included as a bonus.

Lemme know what you can think of....

Thanks!

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is Konami Arcade Classics(or something like that). It had contra and a few other games. I can't remember the details, I think it came out shortly before Contra 4, which is why it was over looked (at least by me).

the namco classics are great on the ds
 (FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

Any 2 or 4 button game should work fine, but ofcourse Joust is the best...

I am curious if 1000 Mile Rally would work. It would be a dangerous thing for me to have on the go.

I was trying for a while but it is a major pain to set it up or I just don't understand something.

Anyway MAME on DS only runs the very, very old classics (it has Dig Dug though, so that's worth it already - if I could get the damn thing to work).

ive never tried any of the arcade emulators for DS, but there are quite alot of them now
apparently Marca DS can emulate around 75 games at the moment and there are a few other stand alone emulators for specific titles. you can find a good list of them here
