You can get an fan-made English patch for the rom, thats how I played it.

If you look at the images that flash it looks like it's going to be some kind of home port of that card based arcade game they put out in Japan last year.

How ironic it is to put a countdown to a remake

Square Enix seems to spill all the handheld systems with remakes of the old Final Fantasy games. Like WonderSwan, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP...

True, but they also throw some exclusives on the handhelds, like Dissidia and Crisis Core, which I would have much rather have seen on consoles.
