I'm getting scammed through ebay/paypal

Post by Octopod »

I sold my ipod on ebay last week with a buy it now of $130 and now the buyer has initiated a paypal dispute. They said nothing to me and the only reason I knew is because I tried to use my paypal debit card and it was denied so I logged into paypal and saw the dispute. They are trying to say the ipod is corrupted and the battery will not hold a charge. I know for a fact that it worked fine and I included a reciept. The ipod is only 6 months old. If something was wrong with it I would have got a new one since they are covered by warranty for a year. I am worried the buyer is going to try to send me some other ipod that is messed up. Well, I let paypal know this and I guess all I can do is hope for the best. After this I think I am done with ebay selling.

Sorry to hear that a few bad apples ruined the bunch, and to be honest I do not blame you at all. Anonymous people can be shifty, I bet pay pal will rule in your favor on this one, especially if you have a spotless record overall.

Don't worry, and don't look back after this.

Yeah, the ebay community can be hit or miss. Whats his feedback rating? If he's a new user, they'll probably just dismiss it.

Well if you state that the buyer never tried to contact you in any way shape or form then you should be okay.

Since I purchased it with a bank card originally will the serial number be connected to my card somehow?

Whenever selling somthing like iPods its important to write down the serial#. That way you can have some proof that the iPod you recieved was the one you sent out. Anyways ebay sucks if your a seller and you will most likely get boned. Such is life I guess.
