By afternoon I work at a computer repair shop. The only one in town. Nothing but super wacky customers it seems. You know the ones Im talking about, the classic ultra fat, stinky guy that wants to talk about World of Warcraft for 45 min.

From what I can tell you guys are basically walking on water while I am stepping in shit.
I know what you mean. Before I was a vet tech I started as a kennel worker. You get tired of shit REAL fast! Also vomit, urine, drool, fur, and the noise.

My worst job was at a recycling plant. I felt good about what I was doing until they made me swim around in a pit filled with plastic bottles and medical waste - for some reason dirty needles and blood soaked gauze turned up a lot. I had to go in because the prisoners I worked with refused...

I'm another highschool student, sophomore. I can't get a job yet, let alone drive, so the only thing I can do for money is keep my grades up, or do some small jobs on the side. I pretty much hate school, but I cope with it. Right now, I'm breaking my balls just to raise money for a PS3, a few PS2 games, and a buttload of model kits, but I think it's all worth it, since all the money is going towards things I love doing.

It probably doesn't count for much... but thank you guys. I have 2 dogs. One from a shelter and one i rescued from a shelter from being killed. He has 3 legs and they were just going to put him down because "no one would want him"

Not to turn this into a sob story- but really, thank you. It really isn't a great job, but it means a lot.

Currently nothing since I just got laid off (LOL, Mr. Mom now!)

Previously I was an Operations Manager at a transportation company. I'm not sure I want to get back into that, it's a stressful job.

I am in school for computer science and I work part time at a big retailer. I used to work in residential construction but that went down the drain last christmas abouts. It is picking up the last few months I guess as I get calls for jobs but I am not going back. I am glad I am out of that even if I make jack shit now. Once I finish school I think I will be a lot happier. Hell, I am already happier than I was just being in school. The retail job blows though.

GameStop's having their annual holiday hiring/firing spree at the moment, so it's a great chance to get a job and keep it by simply actually having game knowledge, etc... that the other seasonal employees lack.

It's a shit job for the first few months but after that it's actually pretty fun except for the standard times that corporate rolls by the store or if something big is going down.

Anyhow, as 90% of the people here on RacketBoy already know I'm a GameStop slave. It's not the worst job on the planet and if we're lucky every once in a while someone comes in trying to sell us their old-school stuff that we no longer trade in and we can usually get it for free or at a dirt cheap price.

Do you do contract work?

I spend most of my time doing sysadmin and systems security work for a big financial, and some of my time building systems, render clusters and custom authentication systems for a visual effects studio. I specialise in Linux and UNIX systems mostly, although deal with Windows, Mac and other proprietary systems when I have to.

And when looking after 3 kids and working 70 hours a week gets "boring", I do ad-hoc contract work too. It's damned near killing me, but I gotta pay this mortgage some how...
