Eh, not like Play 'N Trade is much better. Where I live, they flat out don't exist, and the ones I have been to tend to overcharge for a lot of things. Plus, they seemed to just have a lot of NES games, and then skip right to PS2 and current gen. Nothing in between.

Of course, this is just the PnTs I've been to in South Carolina. In North Carolina, they were actually pretty awesome. Nice selection of import titles, refurbed retro units and all kinda stuff.

Which PnT in SC did you go to? I have been to the Aiken one (my home town) and while not the best PnT I have been to, they had most of the popular systems games. Not much but some Saturn and Dreamcast too. Its one of the stores I have been to and they didn't up the prices. Depending on where you live in SC the Evans store in GA is not much further and they carry alot more variety and imports but they do make there own prices on some of their games.

I might not think Gamestop is the best store in the world but some of their pre-order stuff is cool. How else would I have gotten the Ocarina Master Quest for Gamecube?

Must have been the Sumter Mall location that I'm thinking of, as I know it was definitely in a mall... I can't remember the county it was in, as I was just going with a friend of mine. Regardless, I was really disappointed with the selection.

But then, the one in Charlotte, NC had a lot of nice looking Saturns (although I could get refurbed Saturns for cheaper elsewhere) and some imports like Metal Slug for the Saturn, as well as a few Japanese PS1/2, Dreamcast, and other games.

When it comes to GameStop alternatives, my preference is Software Seconds. It's a hell of a drive, but it's worth it. That's where I got my refurbed Saturn, as well as a few rare games and such. They even had that obscenely expensive Godzilla fighting game for the Super Famicom, boxed and all. They even freakin' had Psychic Killer Taromaru! Jebus Christ.

What I really should do is return the GS copy and keep the Kucan picture and meanwhile use Amazon for the copy I'll actually play with. That way Gamestop doesn't get the sale and I continue my policy of not supporting them.

Wouldn't GS want the pic back?

It's happened to me twice, once with San Andreas, and another time with Madden 2006. Their explanation, "Although you pre-ordered and paid for it, we still have a limited amount, and those who pre-ordered first will get there copies first. In a sense, you are on a waiting list".

The first time it happened, I just came back in an hour when I knew a friend of mine would be working, and got it then.

The second time it happened, I called them out on their bull shit, loudly. Left with a game that time. I haven't pre-ordered a game since, and I let them know why.

It sucks with good preorder bonuses from gamestop, because employees ALWAYS take the good ones. ALWAYS.
